Hutchinson Manufacturing (HMI) has made tremendous strides in its weld tooling technology in recent years to meet the precision weldment demands of the energy, nuclear, and defense industries. Using Bluco™ Modular Fixturing with its wide array of specialty indicating arms, clamps, radial indicators, right-angle consoles and precision spacers to accurately locate weldment components in real 2D or 3D space to meet our customer specifications.
With this technologically-advanced modular tooling, HMI can assemble the fixturing model required to meet the customer’s engineered specifications for weld layout dimensions with near-exact repeatability. Modular tooling means less up-front hard-tooling and fixturing costs, improved accuracy, and no storage needed between contract production runs to store bulky fixturing. Once a modular fixture is designed, assembled, and documented, it can easily be disassembled and reassembled, maximizing production run time efficiencies, saving costs in the long run.
HMI has acquired a Laser Positioning system to work hand in hand with our Bluco™ Modular Fixturing to accurately place components in three dimensional space with an accuracy to 0.010″.
